Presenters:

  • Holly M. Hapke, PhD, is a Researcher and Director of Research Development in the School of Social Sciences at UC Irvine. She is a geographer and interdisciplinary social scientist whose research focuses gender, development, and fisheries and food systems in the Global South. From 2014-2017 she served as a rotating Program Director at the National Science Foundation in the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences.
  • Wenda Bauchspies, PhD, is a Program Director at the National Science Foundation. She co-leads the Science and Technology Studies Program and Ethical and Responsible Research in the Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences Directorate. She is an interdisciplinary scholar whose research focuses on science, technology, culture and gender. Dr. Bauchspies rotates to NSF from Michigan State University where she is a faculty member of the Community Sustainability Department.
  • Sharon Tettegah, PhD is an Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Director for the Center for Black Studies Research, a faculty member in the Dept of Black Studies, and an affiliate in the Dept of Computer Science at UCSB. Her current research is in engineering education. She was also a Program Director in 2010-2012 at the National Science Foundation. She is the Series Editor for Emotions and Technology with Elsevier, Academic Psychology Division.
