Gain an introduction to the world of foundation fundraising.
Are you new to fundraising? Would you like to become a better grantseeker? Learn about the process of seeking grant funding, and what tools and resources are available.
This workshop, led by Sarah Jo Neubauer of The Foundation Center - San Francisco, will focus specifically on how to seek grant funding from private foundation sources. You'll learn what you need to have in place before you seek a grant, gain an overview of the world of foundation grantmakers, and come away with useful tools and tips about the foundation grantseeking process. The workshop will also include a hands-on tutorial about how to use the Foundation Directory Online, a comprehensive database of grant information from private foundation sources.

Sarah Jo Neubauer is the training coordinator at the Foundation Center-San Francisco. Sarah Jo has held previous positions at the Center, first as Assistant Librarian, from July 2006 through April 2010, and most recently as the Reference Librarian. Before joining the Foundation Center, Sarah Jo worked at the University of California, Santa Cruz Women's Studies Library and at the UC, Santa Cruz main library. Prior to her library experience, Sarah Jo worked as a community organizer with a variety of nonprofit organizations. She completed her undergraduate work at UC Santa Cruz, and received her Masters in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. She serves on the board of Muttville, a local senior dog rescue organization and enjoys exploring the Bay Area with her family.
