Subrecipient Monitoring / Subawards

SF State is responsible for monitoring sponsored project funds that are subcontracted to another institution, organization, or individual (sub-recipient). For subcontracts including any federal funds, sub-recipients must make an annual disclosure of sponsored research audit findings.

For awards after Dec. 26, 2014, SF State is required to comply with the guidelines outlined in OMB Uniform Guidance, 2 CFR Part 200 Subpart F and to monitor expenses of federal awards that are sub-contracted to another institution, organization, or individual. As such, SF State reviews sub-recipient expenditures for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, and proper compliance.

For awards before Dec. 26, 2014, SF State is required to comply with the guidelines outlined in OMB Circular A-133 and to monitor expenses of federal awards that are sub-contracted to another institution, organization, or individual. As such, SF State reviews sub-recipient expenditures for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, and proper compliance.
