Grants Management Tip of the Week

Please remember that a PI Checklist is required whenever you respond to any funding opportunity

Every time you respond to a funding opportunity announcement of any kind, please submit a PI Checklist as soon as possible, but at least 5 weeks before the agency deadline.

  • A PI Checklist is necessary even if no budget will be included and even if ORSP will not make the initial submission (for example, with a letter of intent).
  • A PI Checklist is required for Letters of Intent (LOIs) with or without a budget, Pre-Proposals, Full Proposals, Subawards, Subcontracts, and Renewals.

If you are applying for a grant...
  • Review the funding opportunity announcement to confirm appropriateness and eligibility
  • Tell ORSP you want to apply by filling out our online PI CheckList
  • Consider contacting the Program Officer to discuss suitability of idea(s)
  • Stay on the Route to Successful Grant Submissions

Pivot Funding Research Tool

ORSP provides campus-wide access to the powerful and flexible funding research tool “Pivot.” With a few easy steps, you can sign up for a Pivot account, link it to a pre-populated profile (or create a new one), and instantly find funding opportunities. ProQuest also provides Pivot customers with training webinars here. Questions and comments to Jessica Mankus, Grant Development Specialist, jmankus@sfsu.edu
